Overview
This feature is designed to give you clear insights into how your show is performing on TalkShopLive, as well as on social media platforms via our Facebook and Instagram Shoppable Simulcasting features. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about accessing and interpreting your show data.
Accessing TSL Analytics
Locate the Analytics/Telemetry Section: Look for the “Analytics” option under the menu. Select "My Channel" --> "Analytics".
Analytics List Page: You can bulk export shows from the last 180 days (~6 months) as a .csv for further analysis using third-party analytics software. From the Analytics List page, you can select a show to deep dive into that show's telemetry.
Per Show, Switch Between Tabs: Click on the TalkShopLive, Facebook, or Instagram tab to dive into the respective platform’s metrics. You can also export the telemetry for that show as a .csv file for further analysis using third-party software.
TalkShopLive Tab
This is your home base for all things related to the TalkShopLive platform:
- View Counts: See how many people have watched your show live or via VOD.
- Engagement Metrics: Get a quick overview of interactions like likes or chat messages.
Note: Since this data is part of our beta release, some numbers may shift over time as we refine our calculations.
Facebook Tab
The Facebook tab gives you data for any show that was simulcast on Facebook. Key points include:
- 30-Day Window: Your show data is available only for 30 days post-broadcast. After that, Facebook automatically removes live show content according to their updated video storage policy, and metrics become unavailable.
- Performance Insights: Track how many viewers tuned in, how they engaged (likes, comments, shares), and any other relevant signals provided by Facebook.
Instagram Tab
The Instagram tab offers insights into Reels that are tied to your show entity once your live broadcast has ended. Here’s what you need to know:
- Reels Only: Currently, no telemetry is available for Instagram Live broadcasts themselves. We only track the performance of Reels connected to your show once it is over.
- Engagement Data: This includes views, likes, comments, and potential reach for the Reel.
Important Reminders
- No Data for Test Shows: Telemetry will not generate for test shows. Only published, non-test shows display analytics.
- Beta Release: We’re continually refining and improving the data, so some metrics or representations may evolve over time.
- Limitations: Outside the 30-day window on Facebook, no further telemetry is available. Instagram Live data is currently excluded.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why can’t I see analytics for my Instagram Live?
A: Instagram Live metrics are not included in this initial release. You’ll only see data for Reels connected to your show post-live.
Q: What happens after the 30-day window for Facebook?
A: Facebook’s new data policy removes your live content after 30 days, meaning telemetry isn’t accessible once the content is taken down.
Q: Can I access analytics for shows recorded before the beta release?
A: You’ll see analytics for live shows (non-test shows) from the most recent 180 days (~6 months). We advise you to continually download your analytics data via the bulk export feature on the analytics list page once every 90 to 180 days.
