Introduction
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for Seller-Streamers to run a test show and go live using the RTMP input feature in TalkShopLive. This feature is built to support Seller-Streamers that want to use a broadcast software solution such as OBS, Streamlabs, Restream or other encoders to run their live show.
It also includes troubleshooting tips for common issues.
Running a Test Show
After you have completed the initial setup of your live show, we recommend running a test show to get familiar with our streaming platform. This familiarity will increase the probability of your success when you have your live show.
Step-by-Step Instructions via Google Chrome Browser
- Log into TalkShopLive:
- Open Google Chrome and log into your TalkShopLive account.
- Under your Seller profile menu options, select "Shows."
- Select Your Scheduled Show:
- Click "Manage" on the show you'd like to begin. At this stage, you could also create a new show.
- Run a Test Show:
- Select "Run a Test Show" and select "RTMP" on how you plan to go live.
- Note: Your video and audio will now be controlled by your encoder (e.g. OBS).
- Configure Broadcast Software and Start the Stream:
- Open your broadcast software (e.g., OBS, Wirecast, Restream).
- Find the RTMP input settings and paste the "Connection URL" and "Stream Key" from TalkShopLive.
- Click "Start Streaming" in the broadcast software.
- You need to select "start show" on both your encoder and TalkShopLive streaming.
- Start the Stream on TalkShopLive:
- Return to TalkShopLive and start the show once you have confirmation that TalkShopLive is receiving the audio and video from your encoder/broadcasting software.
- End the Test Show:
- To end the show, click "End Show" on TalkShopLive before stopping the stream in your broadcast software.
- Note: Do not forget to end the show on TalkShopLive
Going Live
Start setup at least 15 minutes in advance.
You will follow the same process you did when you were running through the test show.
