TalkShopLive's Connected Accounts feature lets users link third-party services. Shoppers can sign in faster using Google, Facebook, or Apple, while Sellers can connect YouTube, Facebook and Instagram to stream shows. Permissions are minimal, access can be revoked anytime, and destinations must be set before a show goes live.
TL;DR: Use Shopper mode to sign in faster with Google, Facebook, or Apple. Use Seller mode to connect your YouTube channel and Meta pages — Facebook & Instagram — and use them as show destinations during setup to enable shoppable simulcasting to these platforms.
Overview
Connected Accounts lets you link third‑party services to TalkShopLive. Switch between Shopper and Seller modes at the top of the page to see the options that apply to you.
At a glance
| User Mode | OAuth Providers | Purpose | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shopper | Google, Facebook, Apple | Faster sign-in and checkout inside TalkShopLive's ecosystem | Standard OAuth; TalkShopLive asks to share your basic profile and email (this depends on the platform and what it allows) |
| Seller | YouTube | Stream destinations for simultaneously broadcast TalkShopLive shows | TalkShopLive asks to access and be one of the services that can manage your YouTube account so you can set up YouTube live shows without leaving TalkShopLive. We also ask to see the views, likes, chat and comments of the YouTube show. |
| Seller | Facebook, Instagram via Facebook | Stream destinations for simultaneously broadcast TalkShopLive shows | TalkShopLive asks to access and be one of the services that can manage your Facebook page and Instagram for Business account so you can set up Facebook Live shows and Instagram Live events without leaving TalkShopLive. |
Shopper mode (OAuth sign‑in)
- Go to Profile → Connected Accounts → Shopper.
- Choose Connect next to Google, Facebook, or Apple.
- Approve the requested permissions and you’re done.
What we request
- Google / Facebook: basic profile and email for account matching.
- Apple: name (once) and email (optional). If you use Hide My Email, we’ll receive a private relay address.
Disconnect
- Click … → Disconnect next to any provider. You can still sign in with your email/password.
Seller mode (channel & destinations)
Use Seller mode to connect channels you can publish to from TalkShopLive.
YouTube (available now)
- Go to Profile → Connected Accounts → Seller.
- Select Connect YouTube and complete the Google OAuth flow.
- After connecting, open your show setup and in Destinations toggle YouTube on for your connected channel.
Full guide: Connect your YouTube channel to TalkShopLive (Seller)
Important: You cannot add or change destinations on a show after it has gone live. Add YouTube while setting up or editing a scheduled show.
Now available: Meta (Facebook & Instagram)
- A Seller can now connect their Facebook Page and Instagram for Business account and add them as destinations during show setup.
Disconnect
- From Seller tab, click Connected Accounts section on the left-hand side menu → Disconnect YouTube to remove publishing access.
Troubleshooting
- I don’t see the right options. Check the Shopper / Seller toggle at the top of Connected Accounts.
- Wrong Google/YouTube account. Sign out of Google in your browser, switch accounts, then click Connect YouTube again.
- OAuth was denied. Restart the flow and accept the requested scopes so publishing works.
- Can’t add YouTube to my show. The show is probably live already. Create a new show or add YouTube before you go live.
Privacy & security
- You can revoke access at any time from Connected Accounts or the provider’s own settings.
- We only request the minimum scopes needed for sign‑in (Shopper) or publishing (Seller). See the provider consent screen for details.
